Tempe police have arrested a woman in connection with the shooting death of her 14-year-old son, whose body was found the morning after she called police to report a family feud.
Cynthia Hernandez, 46, was arrested Friday in connection with the death of her son, Jeremy Barragan, Tempe police spokesman Brandon Banks said.
Barragan’s father called the police after finding his son’s body Friday morning with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
Hernandez had called the police just before midnight Thursday to report a domestic disturbance at the family’s apartment, 30 W. Carter Drive, near Mill Avenue and U.S. 60.
Banks said police had responded to the disturbance call but did not find anything out of the ordinary.
After responding to the call about Barragan’s death, police arrested Hernandez and are investigating the matter as a homicide.
